FESTIVAL REGULATIONS

Competitors’ age groups

Competitors in section Vocal music are divided into four age groups:

• Group 1 – 5 – 8 years old
• Group 2 – 9 – 12 years old
• Group 3 – 13 – 16 years old
• Group 4 – 17 – 25 years old

Attention! The groups are set according to the predominant number of competitors. Each competitor is divided according to his age at the time of the event.  

The festival’s competition part consists of two categories:

• A vocal part
• An instrumental part
•    І. Vocal part (pop, rock and jazz)Groups – they have to choose two songs, one in their native language and one optional. The performance must last for about 10 minutes.
  Live music or a recording are required.
  Lip sync is not allowed! It is not allowed to change setlists!
  • Singers must perform one song in their native language and the other one is optional.
  • (Optional) – There will be a competition for an original musical piece dedicated to the city of Veliko Tarnovo – it could be either a song or an instrumental.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

     ІІ. Instrumental part (piano, violin, viola, violoncello, contrabass, guitar, accordion, chamber ensembles)

   

  Competitors are divided into three age groups:

  • Group 1 – 7 to 12 years old
  • Group 2 – 13 to 18 years old
  • Group 3 – 19 to 25 years old

  Competitors will have to perform two pieces. Each group has a time limit:

  • Group 1 – up to 7 minutes
  • Group 2 – up to 10 minutes
  • Group 3 – up to 13 minutes

  The event organizers will not provide musical instruments other than the piano. Each competitor must bring their own instruments. If any of the instruments requires an accompanist, please inform the event organizers in advance.

  
  Third category, in which the competitors will have the chance to participate in the festival part

   

     IІІ.Vocal and instrumental

   

  The category includes rock, pop, gospel, soul, electronic, hip-hop, Christian rock music. All participants must send a demo of their song. The performance must last no more than 30 minutes. Participants should bring their own instruments.

• Individual performers – they have to choose two songs, one in their native language and one optional. The performance must last for about 8 minutes.
• Technical requirements                              
  1. All backing tracks must be recorded on a CD, a CD-R, and a flashdrive or could be send via email.
  2. Each track must be recorded on a separate CD or CD-R with the performer’s names and the name, author and duration of the track.

          General requirements

   

  1. A filled in application must be sent via e-mail by the 15.04.2016

  2. All formations’ instructors are responsible for any accident that may occur concerning their participants during the festival.

   

   

  Attention!

   

  Hotel rooms can be booked until 15.04.2016.
  An invoice will be issued only when a payment document is presented.

   

  
  Participation fee:

   

  • For individual performers – 30 euro
  • For groups – 50 euro

   

   

  There is no participation fee for the participants in festival, for children with disabilities, or orphaned children.

  • Original costumes and make-up

   

  Awards

   

  • A Grand-Prix award in both vocal and instrumental categories, statuettes

     First place award – cash prize and a certificate

     Second and third place award – certificates

     An award for the audience’s favourite

     Other awards, given by the sponsors of the event

    The jury has the right to not give away each and every award!
